It has been a tough season for Christian Benteke at Liverpool following his £32million summer move from Aston Villa, and Jurgen Klopp received criticism from some corners for giving the Belgian striker a dressing down on the pitch following the 3-2 defeat to Southampton on Sunday.

However, there has been one moment of magic the 25-year-old has produced this term, and it earns him the Liverpool Goal of the Season award so far.

A match between the Merseyside outfit and Manchester United at Old Trafford is always a special occasion, and it was no different back in September in a 3-1 win for the hosts.

Anthony Martial’s first United goal was special, but Benteke’s effort six minutes from time was even better.

Jordon Ibe took on Ashley Young on the right side of the penalty area, before dinking a ball into the box. However, it was headed up in the air by Daley Blind, only to fall to Benteke, who unleashed a powerful scissor kick from 12 yards into the far corner of David De Gea’s goal.
