Liverpool kept alive their hopes of finishing in the Premier League’s top four by beating Leicester City on Monday.

A quick-fire brace from Curtis Jones put the Reds ahead before half-time at The King Power Stadium, before Trent Alexander-Arnold’s stunning long-range effort ensured the victory.

Jurgen Klopp’s side now sit just a point behind rivals Manchester United – who occupy the final Champions League qualification spot – but the Red Devils do have a game in hand.

The Reds have been in sensational form in recent weeks, winning seven consecutive Premier League matches, but it may have come too late for the Merseyside outfit to qualify for Europe’s top club competition next term.

Regardless, the club will likely be busy during the upcoming summer transfer window, although it appears that they won’t be making a move for one of their former stars.

As per Football Insider, Liverpool have no plans to make a move for Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane, despite the Senegal international reportedly pushing to leave his current side.

Mane is reportedly unhappy in Germany

Mane, 31, joined the Bundesliga outfit from Liverpool last summer but has endured a difficult time in Bavaria.

The forward has scored 12 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions, but was involved in an altercation with teammate Leroy Sane following Bayern’s Champions League exit at the hands of Manchester City last month.

The player was excluded from the Bayern squad for their following league game against Hoffenheim, but has since returned to first team action.

The report claims, though, that he is keen to leave Munich this summer, but Liverpool are unlikely to make a move to sign him.

During his time at Anfield, Mane scored 120 goals and provided 48 assists in 269 matches across all competitions.

He also helped the Reds to win six trophies during his time on Merseyside, including the Champions League and Premier League.
