Name: Jordan Henderson
It wasn’t the most lively of international breaks for Liverpool players following a devastating 3-2 loss to Southampton in their last Premier League fixture, but one player that will take some confidence from the Easter weekend of fixtures is captain Jordan Henderson.
England looked to be heading to a defeat as they found themselves 2-0 against Germany in Berlin on Saturday evening with half-an-hour left to play, however Roy Hodgson’s men quickly made it 2-2 before Henderson stepped up to take a corner at the start of stoppage-time.
The 25-year-old put in a perfect delivery that was met by the head of Eric Dier, whose effort flew past Manuel Neuer in the Germany goal, and the Three Lions had completed a remarkable comeback against the world champions.
If you can’t score the winner against the one of the old enemies, it’s always good to assist it, right?
