Jack Wilshere admits he loves Arsenal, but insists his near future and focus is on AFC Bournemouth.
The 24-year-old, who is on a season-long loan at the fellow Premier League side after being left out of the England squad back in August, is determined to show his worth at the Cherries and work his way into the Three Lions fold after being overlooked by former national boss Sam Allardyce.
Wilshere, who will have just one year remaining on his current deal once he returns to the Emirates Stadium next summer, has featured in seven league games for Eddie Howe’s side so far this term.
He told Sky Sports, “I don’t want to think about that [Arsenal future] at the moment because I want to go back having had a good season – not just being fit, but I want to have an effect on the team.
“I want to improve as a player and go back at the end of May and they can say he’s a better player than when he left in September.
“I love Arsenal. I love the fans. The manager has been great to me and been a big part of my life from when I was 10 years old.
“I’ve got good friends there, players, the staff and people will laugh, but the physios too. I’ve become close with them.
