Everton striker Romelu Lukaku looks set to be on the move from Goodison Park this summer, with his former employers Chelsea more than in the running for his signature.

The Blues have long been linked with the £42.5m-rated Toffees forward, with reports suggesting top scorer Diego Costa could be on his way out over the coming months.

The Belgian international is currently away on international duty and has been facing questions over his future at club level. The 24-year-old told Belgian journalist, Kristof Terreur, that whilst a return to Everton “wasn’t really an option,” that he would not yet reveal where he will end up.

“Chelsea or Man United? No comment,” he said.

“I can’t say anything. I know where I want to go, but I keep all the talking to my agent.”

The striker, who was pipped to the Premier League Golden Boot by Harry Kane’s outstanding run of eight goals in one week for Tottenham at the end of the season, was then pushed on whether or not a return to Stamford Bridge was an option, where he went on to leave the door open for fans in west London.

Lukaku didn’t get on the score sheet in the Red Devils’ 2-1 friendly win over Czech Republic, but will be hoping to notch when they face Estonia on Friday.
