Lyon say Chelsea target Moussa Dembele is not for sale, according to reports.

The 23-year-old has scored 30 times for the Ligue 1 side since a transfer from Celtic in the summer of 2018.

Sky Sports report that the Frenchman’s performances have attracted interest from Chelsea.

However, Lyon have hit back by releasing a statement on their official website warning that Dembele is not for sale.

Lyon are insisting that Dembele is not for sale.

The statement reads: “L’Olympique Lyonnais are aware of certain reports in the media which suggest that Moussa Dembele could be of interest to other clubs during this transfer period.

L’OL would like to reaffirm their wish, just as in the 2019 summer window, to keep Moussa Dembele.

The club has total confidence in Moussa and counts on him to form part of a competitive team for seasons to come.

Tammy Abraham has led the line superbly for Frank Lampard’s side this season but with the future surrounding fellow strikers Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi uncertain, the Blues are looking at bolstering their attack.

Dembele netted over 50 goals in a prolific two-year spell at Celtic who he joined from Chelsea’s West London rivals Fulham.
