Manchester City will aim to return to winning ways when they travel to face Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon.

The Citizens have endured a torrid season so far and, despite beating Salford City 8-0 in the FA Cup last weekend, Pep Guardiola’s side surrendered a 2-0 lead as they drew with Brentford on Tuesday.

That result means City have now won just three of their last 12 Premier league matches, with Guardiola’s side languishing in sixth place in the top flight standings.

Those in charge of City’s recruitment are working hard to bolster Guardiola’s squad ahead of the second half of the campaign, and it appears that they have now agreed a deal to sign one of Europe’s most prolific goal scorers.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Manchester outfit have reached an agreement to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush.

The 25-year-old has been in sensational form for the German side so far this season, scoring 20 goals and providing 14 assists in 26 matches across all competitions.

Marmoush is set to join Manchester City

Marmoush scored and provided two assists during Frankfurt’s win over Freiburg earlier this week, and that match may now prove to be his final game for the German side.

The forward – who can play centrally or on the left flank – joined his current club from fellow German side Wolfsburg in 2023 and has since scored 37 goals in 67 games for the club.

Romano claims that City have agreed a five-year-deal with the Egyptian, who is set to move to The Etihad to join Guardiola’s struggling side ahead of a crucial rin of matches over the next couple of months.

Marmoush is under contract with Frankfurt until the end of the 2026/27 campaign, but it appears that he is now on his way to join the reigning Premier League champions.
