Manchester City came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 4-2 on Saturday, keeping alive their Premier League title hopes.

The reigning champions had fallen behind at Selhurst Park when Jean-Phillippe Mateta put the Eagles ahead, but they were quickly level courtesy of Kevin De Bruyne’s stunning strike.

City then went ahead through Rico Lewis, before Erling Haaland added a third.

De Bruyne then got his second and City’s fourth, before Odsonne Edouard scored a consolation for the hosts.

The result keeps City firmly in the hunt for a fourth successive top flight title, but they are relying on both Arsenal and Liverpool to slip up in the closing weeks of the campaign.

Off the pitch, City appear to be closing in on a signing for the future.

According to Football Insider, the Manchester club have agreed a deal to sign Argentine starlet Claudio Echeverri.

Echeverri is reportedly in line to join Manchester City next year

The 18-year-old is currently playing for Argentinian top flight side River Plate, but the report claims that the youngster will join City in January next year.

The teenager has impressed for River Plate during his 15 senior appearances, and he is set to remain with the club on loan until January.

Current City star Julian Alvarez completed a similar move two years ago, and the World Cup winner is now an integral part of Guardiola’s squad.

Echeverri scored his first senior goal last month, netting in a 3-1 win over Gimnasia.

He has also provided three assists so far for River Plate, and his impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

Last year, he captained Argentina to the last four of the Under-17 World Cup, and he has since been rewarded with a cap for the nation’s Under-23s.
