Manchester City have reportedly joined FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in the chase to sign Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho.
With former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp set to be announced as the Reds new manager in the next 48 hours, one of the German’s top priorities at Anfield this term could be trying to keep hold of their Brazilian star beyond the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old, who arrived in Merseyside from Inter Milan back in 2013, has scored once in ten appearances in all competitions for the managerless Reds so far this season.
Coutinho, who has 12 international caps to his name, has mounted interest from La Liga giants Barca and Madrid prior to the New Year window, whilst Premier League rivals City are now understood to be interested in the central midfielder’s services.
After netting eight times in 52 games last season; City manager Manuel Pellegrini sees Coutinho as the ideal replacement for David Silva, who turns 30 next year.
