Manchester City can take a huge step towards a fourth consecutive Premier League title when they face Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

Last time out the Citizens cruised to a convincing 5-1 win over Wolves at The Etihad, leaving Pep Guardiola’s side a single point behind league leaders Arsenal.

The reigning champions do, however, have a game-in-hand over the Gunners and remain favourites to lift the trophy later this month.

Having won the treble last season, Guardiola will be hoping to defend both the Premier League and FA Cup this term, although they have already been knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Guardiola could become the first manager in Premier League history to win four consecutive Premier League titles, but it appear that the Spaniard faces a relatively uncertain future in Manchester.

Guardiola failed to win the Champions League during his time at Bayern Munich

According to Football Insider, Guardiola is unlikely to return to former club Bayern Munich this summer, but the Spaniard’s future at City remains uncertain.

The German giants are on the hunt for a new manager with current boss Thomas Tuchel set to depart Bavaria this summer, and Guardiola has been linked with a sensational return to the German club.

Despite this, the report claims that the 53-year-old will stay put in Manchester beyond this summer.

Guardiola signed a contract extension last year that is set to run until 2025, and the report suggests that although City hope he will stay, the decision will ultimately be Guardiola’s.

The Spaniard took charge of City eight years ago and has since enjoyed huge success, winning no fewer than 16 trophies including the Champions League, five Premier League titles and two FA Cups.

It is also claimed that City are unlikely to put pressure on Guardiola to renew his contract beyond next summer.
