Juventus defender and Man City summer target, Leonardo Bonucci, called the club in order to strike a move to The Ethiad during the window, according to to CEO Ferran Soriano.

The City chief said that there were a number of players interested in making the move to the blue half of Manchester such is the draw of former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola.

Speaking to Catalan radio station, RAC1 (via The Mirror), Soriano said:

“At the moment there are a lot of players that want to play under Pep,

“The Italian central defender [Leonardo] Bonucci wants to play for him and he called us.”

The 29-year-old, rated a whopping £6om, has also been a target for former manager, Antonio Conte at Chelsea as he also looks to bolster his back four.

With the apparent desperation for Bonucci to play under Guardiola, added to the fact that the Sky Blues are still leaking goals on a regular basis, there could well be scope for a move come January.
