Manchester City are unwilling to sell Bernardo Silva this summer despite reports suggesting that the Premier League champions will let the player leave to fund a move for Lucas Paqueta.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been rumoured to be on the verge of letting Silva join Barcelona, however the Citizens are adamant that is not the case, according to The Daily Mail.

Reports in France had suggested that City were looking for around £67 million for the Portugal midfielder, which would then fund a move for Lyon’s Paqueta.

The Brazilian has been linked with Newcastle United among several other clubs, but City have distanced themselves from the move, which would likely cost £68 million.

Guardiola wants to keep hold of Silva

Guardiola issued a hands-off warning to both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain last week amid speculation linking Silva, 27, with the two European giants.

The player looked likely to leave City last summer due to personal reasons, but it appears that the English side have now had a change of heart and are unwilling to let him depart.

Silva could make his 250th appearance for City in Saturday’s Community Shield at Wembley, and the former Monaco man has won four Premier League titles during his five seasons in England.
