Manchester City have no interest in selling midfielder Bernardo Silva this summer, despite reports suggesting that the Portuguese could be on his way to Barcelona.

Silva, 27, has been one of City’s most influential players over the past few seasons, but it was reported last week that he was close to completing a £70 million move to the Nou Camp.

Those reports were false though, according to The Mirror, who claim that the midfielder remains a crucial part of Pep Guardiola’s plans.

Silva has won four Premier League titles during his five years in England

The player’s agent Jorge Mendes had reportedly been given the green light to agree a move to Catalunya, but it now appears that the ex-Monaco man will be staying put this summer.

Silva moved to City in 2017 and has since made 249 appearances for the club, scoring 48 goals and providing 50 assists in that time.

The player would have been allowed to leave the club last summer for personal reasons, but Barcelona failed to find the money to secure a deal and it seems that they may have missed their chance.

City now value Silva at around £80 million.
