Manchester City icon Sergio Aguero has questioned the club’s decision to sell winger Raheem Sterling to rivals Chelsea.

The Englishman made the move to London last month in a deal worth £50 million, ending his seven-year stay at The Etihad.

In the wake of the move, Aguero has criticised the decision to sell the player, claiming that the Citizens often make ‘strange decisions’.

“I don’t understand the sale of Sterling,” Aguero said on his Twitch channel.

Sterling and Aguero were teammates for six years

“There are times they (City) make strange decisions.”

Sterling left City after a decrease in his playing time over the 12 months or so.

Pep Guardiola was unable to give him assurances over his playing time ahead of this winter’s World Cup, and Sterling therefore opted to join the Blues.

City have also sold both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal.

Aguero reportedly wanted to stay at The Etihad beyond 2021 but was told he was no longer needed at City and therefore left for Barcelona.
