Manchester City returned to winning ways on Saturday by beating Brighton and Hove Albion 3-1 at The Etihad.

Pep Guardiola’s side were without a win in their previous two matches before the game, but a brace from Erling Haaland and a superb goal from Kevin de Bruyne earned the reigning Premier League champions three points.

The result moves City to within a point of leaders Arsenal, although The Gunners can regain their four point advantage if they beat Southampton on Sunday.

Despite City’s superb start to the season, it appears that Guardiola is still keen to add to his already star-studded squad.

As reported by The Sun, The Citizens are keeping tabs on Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Georgian has been in superb from so far this season, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists in 14 games across all competitions.

The 21-year-old was almost unplayable when the Italian side thrashed Liverpool 4-1 in the Champions League back in September, and his performances have attracted the interest of a number of clubs.

Guardiola could soon add another young star to his squad

The report claims that both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also interested in the player.

Kvaratskhelia joined Napoli from Georgian side Dinamo Batumi over the summer for a fee of just £9 million, and he is already proving his worth to his new employers.

The winger impressed for Russian side Rubin Kazan after joining the club in 2019, but the invasion of Ukraine by Russia allowed him to leave the club and he spent just four months back in his homeland before Napoli came calling.

Kvaratskhelia signed a five-year deal upon joining the Serie A side, but Napoli are believed to be keen on ripping up that contract and offering the player an improved deal already.

If they do so, they will include a release clause in the deal, however the player himself remains uncertain and wants to weigh up his options before committing to a new contract.

The attacker, who can play in a number of roles across the front line, also boasts an outstanding record for the Georgia national side.

He has so far scored ten goals in 19 senior appearances, as well as providing six assists, since making his debut in 2019.
