Manchester City are back in action on Tuesday night when they face Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League group phase.

Pep Guardiola’s side have won just one of their last four matches across all competitions – a Carabao Cup third round victory over Championship side Watford last week.

The Citizens will be heavy favourites for their game in Slovakia on Tuesday, and Guardiola will expect to see his side impress.

In the meantime, City are reportedly eyeing a move for an England international.

As per CaughtOffside, City are considering a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.

Wharton was an unused member of the England squad at the Euros this summer

The young midfielder only joined the Eagles from Blackburn Rovers earlier this year, but he has since made quite the impression at Selhurst Park.

It is claimed that City have identified Wharton and Atalanta’s Emerson as potential targets if they sign a replacement for midfielder Rodri, who is set to miss the remainder of the campaign after suffering a ligament injury against Arsenal.

City are said to have sent scouts to Italy to watch Ederson in action, suggesting he could be their top target at present.

Wharton was previously linked with a move to City’s fierce rivals Liverpool, having impressed in his first six months at Selhurst Park.

The 20-year-old’s impressive form for the Eagles earned him a surprise call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the European Championships earlier this summer, but he failed to make a single appearance.

He has now played 23 times for the London side across all competitions.

The Englishman is contracted to Palace until the end of the 2028/29 campaign, but the report suggests that City could move for him in the near future.
