Manchester City regained second place in the Premier League table on Wednesday by beating Leeds United 3-1 at Elland Road.

A brace from Erling Haaland after Rodri’s opener was enough to give The Citizens victory, with Pep Guardiola’s side leapfrogging Newcastle United who had temporarily moved above them on Tuesday.

Haaland became the fastest player in Premier League history to score 20 goals when he netted his second against Leeds, and he had Jack Grealish to thank for his brace this time around as the England international set up both goals.

Grealish has struggled at times since joining City, and it now appears that he may well be on his way out of the club.

According to Calciomercato via The Sun, City are considering a shock swap deal that would involve Grealish leaving to join an Italian club.

It is claimed that the reigning Premier League champions are keen to sign AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, and may therefore offer a swap deal involving the Englishman.

One issue that could arise during negotiations would be the 27-year-old’s wages, as he currently earns a staggering £300,000-per-week.

Leao, 23, has been in fine form for the Serie A side over the past 12 months.

Grealish set up two goals against Leeds but missed several chances to score himself

So far this term, he has scored seven goals and provided nine assists in 20 matches across all competitions.

He carried his form into the World Cup, scoring twice for Portugal despite failing to start a single match.

The forward is set to be out of contract in the summer of 2024, and his form of late has seen him linked with a number of clubs across Europe.

Grealish, meanwhile, has been criticised for his lack of goals and assists since moving to The Etihad.

The ex-Aston Villa man has only netted seven times for his current side, and it appears that Guardiola is prepared to let him leave if it means Leao could be on his way to Manchester.
