Countries must confirm their 26-man squads for this summer’s European Championships in Germany by this Friday.

England manager Gareth Southgate must still cut seven players from his preliminary squad, following the Three Lions’ match against Iceland at Wembley on Friday.

England go into the tournament as one of the favourites to lift the trophy, along with the likes of France and Portugal.

Les Bleus could provide arguably the biggest threat for the Three Lions, and it appears that one of their key players could be a transfer target for Manchester City this summer.

According to Football Insider, City are plotting a move for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

Maignan has emerged as a target for Manchester City

The 28-year-old has established himself as one of the world’s best ‘keepers over the past few seasons, and is now a regular for the French national side too.

It is claimed that the Premier League champions are considering a move for the Frenchman if current first choice ‘keeper Ederson departs The Etihad this summer.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, and the Citizens could then move for Maignan if he does depart.

It is claimed that City could be willing to sell Ederson for a fee in the region of £40 million.

Maignan joined Milan from Ligue 1 side Lille in 2021 and has since played 110 times for the Italian club across all competitions, keeping 44 clean sheets.

He played a key role for Milan as they won the Serie A title last term, and he has now been capped 14 times by France at senior level.

The goalkeeper’s current contract with Milan is set to run until the end of the 2025/26 campaign, but City could attempt to lure him away from Italy this summer.
