Premier League champions Manchester City face current leaders Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola’s side have endured a disappointing campaign so far and currently sit fourth in the top flight standings.

Whilst their chances of retaining the title this term have disappeared, the Citizens will be desperate to get the better of the Reds at The Etihad on Sunday.

Having been eliminated from the Champions League at the hands of holders Real Madrid on Wednesday, City’s only chance of winning a trophy this season is now the FA Cup.

Guardiola’s side face Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle in the fifth round, with several of the Premier League’s biggest sides having already been knocked out of the competition.

In the meantime, it appears that one of City’s most influential players is edging closer to a move away from Manchester.

According to TBR Football, midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is nearing an agreement to join San Diego FC this summer.

De Bruyne looks set to depart Man City this summer

The Belgian is currently in the final six months of his contract with City, and he looks almost certain to depart The Etihad when the season ends.

De Bruyne, 33, joined City from Wolfsburg back in 2015 and has since played more than 400 times for the club across all competitions, scoring 105 goals and registering 173 assists.

He has struggled with injuries over the last couple of seasons, however, missing ten games for the Citizens already this season.

It is claimed that newly formed MLS side San Diego are in talks to land the Belgium international when his contract expires this summer, with the report suggesting that a deal is edging closer.

The midfielder had also attracted interest from clubs in the Saudi Arabian Pro League, but the report claims the player is most likely to move to California.
