Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick as Manchester City cruised to a 4-2 win over Chelsea in their final game before the Community Shied on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s side found themselves 4-0 up against the Blues – who they face on the opening weekend of the Premier League season – before two late goals halved their advantage.

City now face rivals Manchester United in the Community Shield, before travelling to face Chelsea as they begin the defence of their Premier League title.

The reigning champions have been one of the quieter Premier League teams so far this transfer window, although one of their players has been heavily linked with a move away from the club.

According to Football Insider, though, Jack Grealish wants to stay put at The Etihad beyond the end of the current transfer window.

The winger, who missed out on a place in the England squad for the Euros this summer, has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.

Grealish has enjoyed huge success since joining Man City three years ago

Grealish, 28, joined City from boyhood club Aston Villa for a fee of £100 million back in 2021 – a Premier League record at the time.

In total he has played 125 times for the Citizens across all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 18 assists.

Last season, the ex-Villa man started just ten of City’s 38 Premier League games, in part due to injury but also due to simply not being selected by his manager.

Grealish, who is contracted to City until the end of the 2026/27 campaign, saw his position under threat following the arrival of Jeremy Doku from French side Rennes last summer.

It is claimed that the Englishman is determined to fight for his place with both City and England, suggesting that he will be part of Guardiola’s squad for the upcoming campaign.
