Alvarez is set to stay put at Manchester City beyond this summer

The report claims that the Argentina international is unlikely to depart Manchester during the upcoming transfer window, despite being linked with Premier League rivals Chelsea.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain and Spanish side Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested in the 24-year-old, but he isn’t expected to depart the club this summer.

Alvarez joined City from Argentinian side River Plate in 2022 and has since enjoyed huge success in England.

The forward has scored 36 goals in 103 games for the Citizens, as well as providing 18 assists.

He has also won six trophies since moving to England, including the Champions League and two Premier League titles.

Alvarez is currently contracted to City until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but it had previously been suggested that the player was growing frustrated at his current situation.

The Argentine has primarily acted as understudy to Erling Haaland since joining City, but the report claims that he is still happy at the club and isn’t intending to leave any time soon.
