Manchester CIty will be hoping to build on their victory over Brighton and Hove Albion when they face Manchester United on Sunday.

The Citizens had suffered consecutive defeats prior to the win over the Seagulls, but they followed that win up with victory over Swiss side Young Boys in the Champions League on Wednesday.

United will undoubtedly provide a stern test in the Manchester derby, though, and it appears that City boss Pep Guardiola could face a battle to keep hold of one of his most important players.

According to Football Insider, City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is set to be the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia in the coming months.

The report claims that clubs in the Pro League could be prepared to offer the Belgian a ‘jaw-dropping’ package in an attempt to lure him to the Middle East next year.

De Bruyne is set to be offered a lucratve contract from a Saudi Arabian club

The 32-year-old joined City from German side Wolfsburg back in 2015 and has since made a total of 358 appearances for the club across all competitions.

In that time, he has scored 96 goals and provided 153 assists, establishing himself as one of the world’s best midfielders.

At present the Belgium international is injured, but he will undoubtedly continue to play a pivotal role for Guardiola’s side when he returns in the nee year.

The report claims that, while De Bruyne is currently happy in Manchester, the figures involved in a potential move to the Pro League could persuade him to leave The Etihad.

His current contract at City is set to expire in 2025, and the report claims that he may not be offered an extension if he continues to suffer from regular injuries.

The midfielder has suffered a number of significant injuries in recent seasons, including his current issue that has sidelined him since the opening weekend of the season.
