Manchester City forward Brahim Diaz is moving closer to signing for Real Madrid, according to Marca.
It is reported that the 19-year-old is to sign a six-year contract worth £60,000-a-week and has already opted to occupy the number 21 shirt upon his arrival in the Spanish capital.
City are set to pocket in excess of £15million in the deal, which would be the club’s first piece of business in 2019.
Diaz – who signed from Malaga’s academy in 2013 – has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at the Etihad, with Pep Guardiola opting for the likes of Bernardo Silva and David Silva in attacking midfield positions.
Dubbed as one of the Cityzen’s most exciting youth prospects since his arrival six years ago, Diaz has failed to nail down a position in Guardiola’s side and has resultantly been limited to cup outings.
The Spaniard scored twice in a 2-0 win over Fulham in the EFL Cup at the start of November, but has not made any league appearances this term.
A move to Madrid will see the tricky midfielder link up with fellow midfielders Dani Ceballos and Isco, who played with Diaz for Spain Under-21s and Malaga respectively.
