Manchester City are one of a number of Premier League teams that are yet to make a single signing so far this transfer window.

Pep Guardiola’s side won a record fourth consecutive Premier League title last term, but were unable to defend their FA Cup or Champions League crowns from the previous campaign.

The Spaniard will be desperate to see his side once again challenge on all fronts this term, and he may therefore decide to delve into the transfer market in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, it appears that a City star’s proposed departure from the club could have collapsed.

As per Fabrizio Romano, talks between Man City and Al-Nassr about a potential deal for goalkeeper Ederson are no longer ongoing.

The Italian journalist previously claimed that the ‘keeper had agreed personal terms with the Saudi Arabian side, but he now states that the two clubs have failed to reach an agreement.

Ederson has been linked with a move away from The Etihad this summer

City are said to have been demanding a fee in the region of £50 million for the Brazilian, while Al-Nassr were only willing to pay around half that.

Ederson, 30, joined the Citizens from Portuguese side Benfica in 2017 and has since played more than 330 times for the club across all competitions, keeping 155 clean sheets.

The Brazil international has won no fewer than 17 trophies during his time in Manchester, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League.

His current contract with City is set to expire in the summer of 2026.

Romano claims that Al-Nassr are now considering a move for fellow Brazilian goalkeeper Bento as an alternative to Ederson.
