Premier League champions Manchester City travel to face title-chasing Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola’s side avoided a humiliating Champions League exit on Wednesday by beating Belgian side Club Brugge 3-1, setting up a play-off with holders Real Madrid.

Domestically, the Citizens have improved slightly of late and have now won four of their last five league games, drawing the other.

City have signed three first team players this month, as they look to overturn their poor start to the campaign.

Despite their recent improvement and a trio of recent new arrivals, it appears that those in charge of City are looking to add further new recruits to Guardiola’s squad.

According to Football Insider, City target Andrea Cambiaso is ‘very keen’ to join the Premier League champions this month.

Cambiaso is said to be keen on the idea of a move to Manchester City

The report claims that City have renewed talks with Italian club Juventus about a potential move for the full-back, who can play on either side of defence.

Cambiaso, 24, joined The Old Lady from Genoa in 2022 and has since played more than 60 times for the club across all competitions.

He has emerged as a target for City as they hunt for a new full-back following the departure of right-back Kyle Walker to AC Milan.

Cambiaso, a 13-time Italy international, can play on either side of defence and that could appeal to City as left-back has also been something of a problem area for Guardiola in recent months.

Despite City’s interest in the Italian, the report states that finalising a move prior to next week’s deadline appears unlikely due to the finances involved and Juventus’ desire to keep hold of the player.

Cambiaso is contracted to Juventus until the end of the 2028/29 season, which puts the Italian outfit in a rather commanding position.

So far this month City have signed defenders Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis, as well as forward Omar Marmoush.
