Manchester City will aim to win a record breaking fifth consecutive Premier League title this season.

The Citizens became the first team in history to lift four straight top flight English titles when they beat Arsenal to the trophy last term, but manager Pep Guardiola will be desperate to extend that record and make more history.

Despite this, City are yet to make a signing so far this summer, although it appears that could be about to change.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the reigning Premier League champions are set to make Troyes winger Savio their first signing of the summer transfer window this week.

Savio joined the French Ligue 2 side – who are part of the City Football Group –  from Atletico Mineiro in the summer of 2022, but he is yet to make a competitive senior appearance for the club.

Instead, Savio was sent on loan to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven shortly after his move to France, playing eight times for the Eredivisie outfit.

He then returned to Troyes, but spent last season on loan at Spanish side Girona, who are also part of the group that includes City.

During his time in Spain, Savio played a crucial role as Girona emerged as shock early contenders for the La Liga title, before eventually finishing third behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The 20-year-old made 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring 11 times and registering ten assists.

Savio has already been capped seven times by Brazil at senior level, scoring his first international goal during a 4-1 win over Paraguay at the recent Copa America.

Romano claims that City will complete the signing of the youngster this week.
