Jack Grealish made his Man City Premier League debut in the champions’ 1-0 defeat at Spurs on Sunday.

Like the rest of his teammates, the 25-year-old endured a very difficult afternoon at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Spurs defended with equal determination and savvy, as their new manager Nuno Espirito Santo got off to the perfect start.

The Portuguese promoted and maintained Wolves as a Premier League club with the very same combination of defensive astuteness and counter-attacking speed Spurs used to overthrow City.

However, it appears the North Londoners victory against the reigning Premier League champions, may have even sped up transfer negotiations for Harry Kane according to reports from ESPN.

Kane has scored 248 goals in 415 appearances for Spurs in all competitions.

There was so much drama and gossip amid City’s chasing of the England captain that you could be forgiven for forgetting there was a football match on.

City have already seen a £100 million bid for the Spurs No.10 soundly rejected by the club.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is holding out for £150 million for the striker who still has three years left on his contract.

Guardiola has already publicly said he wants to sign Kane, but he also explained City will not be bullied into paying more than they believe he is worth.

However, it is understood by reports that City will submit a bit of around £120 million for Kane, which would again smash the British record fee paid.

This is supposedly going to be their final offer – but it’s one that even Daniel Levy may find hard to turn down in the current circumstances.
