Scouts from Man United and Chelsea are to be sent to watch Real Madrid’s Champions League clash with Sporting Lisbon in order to watch Portugal international Gelson Martins, according to reports from The Sun.

The Premier League rivals will not be the only clubs sending scouts however, with Europe’s elite all casting their eyes over the midfielder.

The Red Devils’ fierce rivals Man City will send a scout as well as European giants Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

The 21-year-old will not come cheap should any of the suitors decide to materialise their interest with an offer, as the Sporting star has a reported release clause of €60m, which could soon be rising to €80m.

Martins, a graduate of the academy at Sporting, made his international debut earlier this season, coming off the bench in a 6-0 win over Andorra. The youngster also picked up two assists from the bench in another 6-0 routing, this time against the Faroe Islands.
