Liverpool face Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in the final match of their Champions League group phase on Wednesday.

The Reds have been flawless in the competition so far and have already secured their place in the last 16 of the competition.

Arne Slot’s side will secure top spot in the 36-team table if they avoid defeat in Eindhoven, and the Dutchman will want to see his team maintain their 100% record in the competition so far.

Off the pitch, the January transfer window is now in its final week, and it appears that Liverpool are keeping tabs on a Ligue 1 star.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Liverpool are one of a number of Premier League clubs monitoring Lyon winger Rayan Cherki.

The report claims that the Reds are joined in the race for Cherki by fierce rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

It is claimed that both Liverpool and United have enquired about the player’s availability, but the timescale involved in a potential move make it unlikely that he will be available before the end of the current window.

Cherki has attracted interest from both Liverpool and Manchester United

Cherki, 21, is a product of Lyon’s academy and has already played more than 160 times for the French side across all competitions, scoring 22 goals and providing 23 assists.

The Frenchman – who is yet to be capped by his country at senior level – is said to be available for a fee of around £18.5 million this month, however it may prove to be too late for interested English clubs to finalise a move.

Cherki is contracted to his boyhood club until next year, but the report suggests that his agent has been actively attempting to find the player a new club.

The France youth international has started just ten of Lyon’s 19 Ligue 1 matches this term, and it appears that he may be on his way out of the club.

His versatility may appeal to potential suitors, with the player able to play in a number of attacking roles including on either flank or as an attacking midfielder.
