Ruben Amorim will take charge of his first home game at Manchester United when they host Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Portuguese saw his side held to a 1-1 draw by Ipswich Town in his first match on Sunday, and he will be hoping to oversee his first victory when the Norwegian side arrive at Old Trafford on Thursday.

The Red Devils have won just one of their four games in the group phase of the competition so far, and therefore sit 15th in the table and will need to improve if they are to qualify automatically for the knockout stages.

Off the pitch, United are on the hunt for defensive reinforcements.

As per Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, both United and rivals Liverpool are interested in Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.

Kerkez has attracted interest from both Liverpool and Manchester United

The 21-year-old has been in fine form for the Cherries over the past 12 months or so, and Plettenberg claims that his impressive displays have attracted interest from both Liverpool and United.

He claims that Liverpool are pursuing the full-back, who is also on the Red Devils’ long shortlist of targets as they hunt for a new left-back.

The Hungary international joined Bournemouth from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar last summer and has since played 45 times for the south coast side.

Plettenberg claims that he is not yet top of United’s list of transfer targets, as the Red Devils hunt for a new left-back amid ongoing concerns over the injury records of both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

Shaw made his long-awaited return from injury against Ipswich on Sunday, whilst Malacia has not featured for United since May 2023.

Kerkez is contracted to the Cherries until the end of the 2027/28 season, which would put his current employers in a rather commanding position during any potential negotiations.
