Germany face Spain on Sunday knowing that defeat would likely see them knocked out of the World Cup during the group stages for the second successive tournament.

Hansi Flick’s side were beaten 2-1 by Japan in their tournament opener while Spain defeated Costa Rica 7-0, which leaves the Germans in a precarious position.

Flick will have several difficult selection decisions to make before the match, with several of his stars having failed to impress during the defeat to Japan.

The ex-Bayern Munich coach has a number of young stars available to him, including Jamal Musiala and Karim Adeyemi.

Another of Germany’s young stars is Youssoufa Moukoko, who made his World Cup debut during the game on Wednesday.

The youngster currently plays for Borussia Dortmund, but he looks increasingly likely to leave the German side soon and a number of clubs are believed to be interested.

That’s according to 90min, who claim that both Manchester United and Liverpool are monitoring the player.

Moukoko, 18, has scored 11 times in 59 appearances for Dortmund, including six so far this season.

The teenager is contracted to Dortmund until next summer, but several clubs are reportedly confident that the player is intent on departing.

Ten hag is believed to be interested in Moukoko

The player has himself previously revealed that his future will soon be decided, but clubs across Europe reportedly expect him to leave the club in the next 12 months.

Despite this, his current side are believed to be confident that the striker will sign a new deal and remain with the club.

Dortmund’s fierce rivals Bayern Munich are said to be another side that have registered an interest in Moukoko.

If the German did join Bayern, he would follow in the footsteps of several former Dortmund stars that have made the move in recent years, including Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze.

It is also claimed, however, that the player grew up as a Barcelona fan and dreams of one day playing for the Spanish giants.

Manchester United are set to be in the market for a forward next summer as they look to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the club by mutual consent earlier this week.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have suffered with injuries to several attackers in recent months including Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz, and could therefore also look to add to their options.
