Man United and Man City target set to land £18m deal

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, who has been the subject of interest from both sides of Manchester since the arrival of messrs Mourinho and Guardiola, is set to land a mammoth new deal at the Bernabeu in order to deter interest from potential suitors.

According to reports from German newspaper, Bild, the former Bayern Munich man is set to land himself a £345k-a-week, or a staggering £18m-a-year, deal – bringing him close to Madrid’s star duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

The Germany international was linked with a move to both Man United and their fierce rivals, Man City, over the summer as both clubs flexed their financial muscles ahead of a crucial Premier League season.

However, with the Champions League winners, Los Blancos, under a transfer embargo until 2018 manager Zinedine Zidane will be keen to hold onto his key assets during the coming transfer windows.

Therefore, this deal – as well as being incredibly hard to match, let alone better – will act as the perfect deterrent to the Premier League big boys.
