Manchester United will be hoping to record a fifth victory in six Premier League games when they welcome Bournemouth to Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Red Devils have largely failed to impress with their performances so far this season, but have put together a string of narrow victories including a 2-1 win over Chelsea last time out.

Manager Erik ten Hag will be hoping that his side can continue their impressive run of form, but the Cherries have also improved of late and will undoubtedly provide United with a tough test on Saturday.

In the meantime, it appears that United are plotting a move for a Premier League defender in January.

As per Football Insider, both the Red Devils and Tottenham Hotspur have registered their interest in Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi.

Guehi has attracted interest from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs

The centre-back has been in fine form so far this season, but his performances haven’t gone unnoticed and both United and Spurs have now registered their interest in the Englishman.

It is claimed that the Eagles value Guehi at around £60 million, however Man United are only willing to offer £45 million during the upcoming January transfer window.

Guehi, 23, joined Palace from Chelsea back in 2021 and has since made a total of 98 appearances for the club across all competitions.

His impressive displays over the past 12 months have also seen him establish himself as a regular in Gareth Southgate’s England squad, with the centre-back having now been capped nine times by the Three Lions.

The defender, who cost Palace around £20 million when moving from Stamford Bridge, is contracted to the Selhurst Park outfit until the summer of 2026.

It appears increasingly unlikely that he will stay with the club until that date, though, with both United and the Lilywhites desperate to bolster their defensive options during the upcoming mid-season transfer window.
