Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have both been made aware of Christian Eriksen’s situation, as the midfielder has reportedly decided to leave Brentford.

As per The Daily Express, both Premier League clubs are interested in signing the 30-year-old, who has left the Bees after the expiry of his contract.

The ex-Tottenham star arrived back in England in January after a spell with Inter Milan, and impressed for Thomas Frank’s side during the second half of the season.

The report claims that United manager Erik ten Hag is keen on the idea of signing Eriksen, who trained with Ten Hag’s former side Ajax as he prepared for a return to football after suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.

The Dutchman was reportedly impressed with the Dane’s ability, and is now hoping to sign him on a free transfer.

Brentford boss Frank was hopeful that the midfielder would opt to extend his stay in west London, but it was announced over the weekend that his contract had expired and he isn’t expected to agree to an extension.

Spurs, meanwhile, are also hopeful of signing the player, who made more than 300 times for the Lilywhites before departing in 2020.

Antonio Conte’s side could be in pole position to land the midfielder, as they secured a place in next season’s Champions League and the player is believed to be intent on playing in the competition once again next term.
