Shoot! cover star, Marcus Rashford, and his England teammate Dele Alli have been shortlisted for the UEFA Golden Boy award.

The award, which has been running since 2003, shortlists 40 players under the age of 21 to be nominated for the crown. The competition, started by Tuttosport, is voted for by the pubic.

The first recipient of the award was former Spurs and Real Madrid midfielder, Rafael van der Vaart, and was most recently won by Rashford’s United teammate, Anthony Martial.

Both players enjoyed breakthrough seasons last term, with Dele Alli establishing himself as a key man in the Spurs setup whilst Rashford, who made his way into the side through injury, was a shining light in a heavily criticised season for the Red Devils.
