Manchester United return to Premier League action when they face Brentford on Saturday evening.

Erik ten Hag’s side have endured a frustrating season so far, having been knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage and struggled in the Premier League.

At present they sit sixth in the top flight, and look unlikely to catch fourth-placed Aston Villa and qualify for Europe’s top club competition next term.

Ten Hag’s future has been the subject of speculation, with some suggesting that the recent introduction of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS to the United board potentially prompting a change of management.

Off the pitch, though, it appears that the Red Devils are frustrated at a Spanish club.

According to AS via 90min, the Manchester outfit are ‘angered’ by Hannibal Mejbri’s lack of football while on loan at Sevilla.

Mejbri has endured a frustrating spell in Spain so far

The Tunisian midfielder joined the La Liga side on loan in January, but has made just four appearances for his new side so far and started only one top flight match.

It is claimed that United are frustrated at the player’s situation, with Mejbri having played a total of just 89 minutes in total for Sevilla.

Prior to his mid-season switch, the midfielder had made ten appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions this term.

He remians a regular for Tunisia, but withdrew from their most recent squad in order to focus on his club career.

The player’s current contract with United is set to run until the end of the 2024/25 campaign, and although Sevilla have the opportunity to buy the midfielder for £17 million, it appears unlikely at this point that the Spanish side will choose to do so.
