Manchester United will face League Two side Newport County in the FA Cup fourth round after the League Two side defeated non-league Eastleigh on Tuesday evening.

The Red Devils defeated Wigan Athletic 2-0 in the third round of the competition, and will be confident of progressing past their Welsh opponents into the fifth round.

While United aren’t in action until they face Newport on January 28, manager Erik ten Hag will be working hard behind the scenes to prepare his squad for the second half of the season.

The Manchester outfit have already lost Sergio Reguilon after his loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur was ended, and it now appears that the Red Devils are set to lose another star.

As per Football Insider, United forward Facundo Pellistri is close to joining Spanish side Granada on loan.

The report claims that the La Liga side are in advanced talks to sign the Uruguayan on loan for the remainder of the current season.

Pellistri, 22, joined United from Uruguayan side Penarol back in 2020 and has since made 24 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils, providing two assists.

The winger has failed to score a senior level for United, and has primarily been used as a substitute, starting just one Premier League match so far this term.

Pellistri has struggled to establish himself in the first team at Old Trafford, with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho all seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order.

It is claimed that Ten Hag and those in charge of the club have informed the 18-time Uruguay international that he will be allowed to depart on loan this month in order to gain valuable first team experience.

Granada currently sit 19th in the Spanish top flight and will hope that Pellistri can hit the ground running and help them in their bid to avoid relegation.
