Manchester United will hope to return to winning ways when they face Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

A late Harry Maguire goal rescued a point against Porto in the Europa League group phase on Thursday, although Erik ten Hag’s side had surrendered a 2-0 lead and ended up drawing 3-3.

After being held to a 1-1 draw by FC Twente in their opening match of the European campaign, United now sit on just two points and must improve if they are to qualify automatically for the knockout phase.

In the wake of United’s draw against Porto, it has emerged that those in charge of the club are unhappy with Ten Hag’s side so far this term.

As per GiveMeSport, the club’s bosses are concerned about United’s poor run of results in the early stages of the current campaign.

Ten Hag is once again under pressure amid his side’s poor run of form

United have won just three of ten matches across all competitions so far, with their only Premier League victories being against Fulham and Southampton.

At present, the Red Devils sit 13th in the Premier League table, below the likes of Brentford, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest.

Ten Hag was under significant pressure towards the end of last season, when it was widely reported that he was set to be sacked regardless of the result in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

United were victorious at Wembley, and that result prompted United to trigger an extension in the Dutchman’s contract.

Now, though, after a run of just one win in six Premier League games, the former Ajax boss is once again under increasing pressure.

The report suggests that those in charge of the club had hoped to bring an end to United’s tendency to be at the centre of high profile disappointments, but failing to win against Brighton and Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, FC Twente and Porto in the early weeks of the season have caused them concern.
