Manchester United are one of 17 Premier League clubs that have completed at least one new signing so far this transfer window.

The Red Devils announced the signing of Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee over the weekend, with the 23-year-old joining from Italian side Bologna.

Manager Erik ten Hag will likely want to make further additions to his squad ahead of the upcoming season, with United hoping to improve on their eighth-placed finish last term.

Now, it has emerged that the club’s failure to offload one of their current players is preventing them from signing one of their key transfer targets.

As per CaughtOffside, United are unable to make a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder until they offload Casemiro.

The report claims that Ugarte, 23, is a target for the Red Devils as Ten Hag looks to bolster his midfield options before the new season.

United are unable to fund a move for the Uruguayan until Casemiro, 32, is sold.

Ugarte is a target for Manchester United this summer

The Brazil international has attracted interest from clubs in the Saudi Arabian Pro League, namely Al-Ahli, Al-Nassr and Al-Qadsiah.

Despite the player’s representatives being in contact with the Saudi clubs, but United are demanding a fee of £35 million for the midfielder.

Clubs in Saudi have been identified by Casemiro’s agents as being the only sides capable of matching the Brazilian’s current wages – believed to be around £350,000-per-week.

Casemiro joined United from Real Madrid in 2022 and has since made more than 80 appearances for the club across all competitions.

Ugarte, meanwhile, joined PSG from Portuguese side Sporting CP last summer, and played 37 times for the French giants during his first season in charge.
