Manchester United return to Premier League action on Sunday when they face West Ham United.

The Red Devils produced arguably their most impressive performance of the season on Thursday as they beat Athletic Bilbao 4-1 in the Europa League semi-finals, going through 7-1 on aggregate.

United’s victory set up a final against Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao later this month, and both sides are in desperate need of silverware as they currently sit 15th and 16th respectively in the top flight table.

Off the pitch, however, it appears that United could miss out on one of their transfer targets.

According to TBR Football, German side Borussia Dortmund are confident about their chances of signing Manchester United target Jobe Bellingham.

The report claims that the Bundesliga outfit believe that they are in pole position to land the Englishman ahead of both the Red Devils and Crystal Palace.

Bellingham, the younger brother of Real Madrid star Jude, has impressed for the Black Cats this season.

He played 40 times in the Championship to help Regis Le Bris’ side reach the play-offs, and also impressed as they beat Coventry City 2-1 in the first leg of their semi-final.

The midfielder joined Sunderland from boyhood club Birmingham City in 2023 and has since played 88 times for the North East side across all competitions.

His impressive performances have attracted significant interest from elsewhere, but it appears that he could follow in the footsteps of his older brother and join Dortmund.

Bellingham’s contract with Sunderland is set to run until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but it appears increasingly likely that he will depart The Stadium of Light this summer.

Dortmund had scouts in attendance at Sunderland’s win over Coventry in the play-offs on Friday, and the German side are said to be leading the race to land the player this summer.
