Manchester United return to action on Friday night when they host Premier League rivals Leicester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Ruben Amorim’s side suffered yet another damaging defeat on Sunday, being beaten 2-0 by Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

That result left the Red Devils 13th in the Premier League table, and their tally of 29 points after 24 matches is nearer to 18th-placed Leicester than it is to that of fourth-placed Chelsea.

Despite their woeful campaign so far, United have been relatively quiet during the January transfer window, with Patrick Dorgu and youngster Ayden Heaven their only arrivals so far this month.

Now, though, it appears that a current United player could be on his way out of the club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, left-back Tyrell Malacia is in the Netherlands to discuss a potential loan move to Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven.

Romano claims that the Dutchman – who only recently returned from injury for United – has arrived in Eindhoven to continue talks about a potential last minute switch to his homeland.

Malacia, 25, joined United from Dutch side Feyenoord in 2022 and made 39 appearances for the club during his first season in England.

The full-back then suffered an injury in late in 2023, and didn’t feature against until November last year.

In total the Netherlands international has now played 47 times for the Red Devils across all competitions, but it appears that he could depart Old Trafford before the end of the current window.

Malacia’s contract with his current employers is set to run until the end of the 2025/26 campaign, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will stay put in Manchester until then.
