Manchester United continued their preparations for the upcoming campaign with a 3-2 win over Spanish side Real Betis on Thursday.

Erik ten Hag’s side were beaten 1-0 by Rosenborg in their first friendly of the summer, before defeating Scottish side Rangers 2-0.

They were then beaten 2-1 by Premier League rivals Arsenal, although they were victorious in a pre-arranged penalty shoot-out after the match.

Goals from Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo and Casemiro earned the Red Devils a win over Betis, with a friendly against Liverpool up next before United face rivals Manchester City in the Community Shield later this month.

Off the pitch, though, it appears that a United defender’s proposed move away from the club has been delayed.

According to Football Insider, Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s proposed move to Premier League side West Ham United has been delayed after Italian side Inter Milan attempted to hijack the move.

Wan-Bissaka’s proposed move to West Ham has been delayed

The Englishman, who has never been capped by his country, was expected to join the Hammers in a move that would allow United to sign Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui.

The report claims, though, that both West Ham are attempting to finalise a move for the right-back but negotiations have been complicated by recent interest from the Serie A champions.

Wan-Bissaka, 26, has played 190 times for the Red Devils since joining the club from Crystal Palace five years ago – for a fee of £50 million.

He has recently entered into the final 12 months of his current deal, though, and United have therefore decided to allow him to leave in order to ease their profit and sustainability worries.

It is claimed that United are demanding a fee of £15 million for Wan-Bissaka – who would prefer to move abroad – while West Ham’s offer is closer to £10 million.
