Manchester United will be hoping to secure another important three points when they travel to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Red Devils have endured a difficult season so far, having been knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage and suffered eight Premier League defeats already.

Last time out United came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against Aston Villa at Old Trafford, with striker Rasmus Hojlund scoring his first Premier League goal to complete the turnaround.

Despite the Dane scoring his first league goal for the club, it appears that United are monitoring a Bundesliga forward.

According to Football Insider, the Manchester outfit are exploring a move for Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy.

Guirassy’s scintillating form has attracted interest from Manchester United

The 27-year-old striker has been in sensational form so far this season, scoring a remarkable 19 goals in 16 games across all competitions.

His form has propelled Stuttgart into third place in the Bundesliga table, but the German side risk losing him next month as his current contract includes a release clause set at just £18 million.

With that in mind, the report claims that United have made the Guinea international a top target ahead of the January transfer window.

Ten Hag is said to be keen on the idea of signing a new striker next month as he looks to improve his side’s attacking output during the second half of the season.

Only three teams have scored fewer than the 21 goals that the Red Devils have managed in the Premier League so far this season, including Sheffield United and Burnley – the division’s bottom two sides.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s recent minority takeover of the club could have an impact on United’s imminent transfer dealings, though, with the report claiming that all transfer plans had been put on hold until the deal was completed.
