Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will hope to see his side beat Brentford when they return to action on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, nine points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.

Ten Hag will be desperate to see his side defeat the Bees and keep alive their slim hopes of achieving Champions League qualification for next season.

In the meantime, though, it appears that the Manchester club are plotting a shock move for a former Stoke City striker.

As per Relevo via TEAMtalk, United are considering a move for Real Madrid loanee Joselu when the transfer window reopens.

The 34-year-old is currently on loan at Real from fellow Spanish side Espanyol, and he has scored 15 goals in 40 matches for the La Liga giants across all competitions.

Joselu has been linked with a sensational move to Manchester United

During his time in England, the Spaniard scored ten goals in 48 Premier League games across spells with the Potters and Newcastle United.

Joselu has started just ten of Real’s La Liga games so far this season, but remains an important player for the club.

Despite United’s interest in the Spain international, Joselu himself is keen to stay put in the Spanish capital.

He recently admitted that he ‘hopes to stay with Real Madrid on a permanent deal’, while speaking to ABC.

Real Madrid are rumours to be closing on the signing of Kylian Mbappe this summer, when the Frenchman’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires.

Despite that, manager Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly keen to keep hold of Joselu and make his move permanent.

Having made his senior debut for Spain in March last year, Joselu has now scored five goals in ten caps for his country.
