Manchester United will look to build on their opening day victory over Fulham when they face Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag’s side ran out 1-0 winners over the Cottagers on Friday night, courtesy of debutant Joshua Zirkzee’s late goal.

Prior to the Dutchman’s strike, it had looked like the Red Devil were going to have to settle for a point at Old Trafford.

The win gives United a positive start to the campaign, though, and Ten Hag will hope to see his side improve when they face the Seagulls on Saturday.

In the meantime, it appears that Man United are prepared to accept a cut-price deal as they look to offload one of Ten Hag’s fringe players.

According to Football Insider, the Red Devils could accept a bid of just £5 million to sell midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The Dane was an unused substitute during both United’s Community Shield defeat against rivals Manchester City and their win over Fulham on Friday, and it appears that his time with the club is likely coming to an end.

Eriksen won the eighth trophy of his club career when United were victorious in the FA Cup final back in May

Eriksen joined United in 2022 after a brief spell with fellow Premier League side Brentford, and has since made a total of 72 appearances for the Manchester outfit.

Previously, the midfielder had enjoyed a seven-year stint with Tottenham Hotspur, before departing in 2020 to join Italian side Inter Milan.

The report claims that United have put the 32-year-old up for sale as Ten Hag has decided that he is no longer part of his plans for the current campaign.

The Denmark international is also in the final year of his current contract, suggesting that United are hoping to cash in on him and receive a fee, rather than letting him leave as a free agent next summer.
