Bruno Fernandes made an instant impact when arriving in the Premier League back in January 2020, scoring 26 goals and providing 18 assists in his first 51 Premier League matches.

The Portuguese’s mid-season arrival steered Manchester United in a positive direction, and it appears that the Red Devils are now hoping that they can sign one of his fellow countrymen with a view to him having a similar impact.

As per Record via Football Talk, United are interested in Porto’s Vitinha.

The report claims that the Premier League side are the ‘most interested’ club in the midfielder, who spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Wolves.

Vitinha scored in the Portuguese Cup Final

Erik ten Hag is keen to add at least one midfielder to his ranks before the season begins, and Frenkie de Jong has been among those most closely linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Vitinha, 22, made 47 appearances for Porto across all competitions this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists in the process.

The report also claims that an unnamed English club are ready to trigger the release clause of the player, which is believed to be £35 million.

Whilst it doesn’t name United as the club, it implies so by suggesting that they are the most likely destination for the Portugal international.
