Manchester United talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has decided he wants to leave the club this summer and the Portuguese has a number of clubs interested in him, according to reports.

As per The Athletic, the 37-year-old has told those in charge at Old Trafford that he wants to leave the club if the right offer is received, as he looks to secure a move that would see him play in the Champions League.

Last week, the player’s agent Jorge Mendes met with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, sparking rumours that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner could move to Stamford Bridge.

Serie A side Napoli are also believed to be interested in the player, who scored 24 goals during his first season back in England.

German champions Bayern Munich are also credited with an interest in the ex-Real Madrid man, potentially seeing him as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski who looks almost certain to leave the club this summer.

The news has thrown new United boss Erik ten Hag’s plans into chaos as he faces losing one of his key players just weeks before the season begins.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain aren’t currently believed to be interested in signing Ronaldo, who has 12 months remaining on his current United contract.

Ronaldo is desperate to continue competing for trophies during the final years of his career, something that he feels he won’t be able to do at United.
