Manchester United will hope to extend their winning run to four matches when they face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Red Devils endured a torrid start to the season but have improved of late, winning three consecutive Premier League games.

Prior to this month, Ruben Amorim hadn’t won consecutive league games since taking charge of United in November last year, but the Portuguese will hope to see his side kick on after beating Brighton and Hove Albion 4-2 at Old Trafford on Saturday.

In the meantime, it has emerged that United are interested in an England international that could cost a huge amount.

According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are closely monitoring Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, who has been hugely impressive over the past 12 months.

He claims that the Red Devils are keeping tabs on the Englishman, with Forest aware of interest in the player from elsewhere.

Anderson joined Forest from Newcastle United in 2024 but Plettenberg claims that the Magpies are also monitoring the midfielder, who has recently established himself as a regular for England.

Despite significant interest in the player, it is claimed that Forest are reluctant to sell Anderson and would therefore only consider selling him next summer for a fee of around £100-120 million.

Anderson’s current contract at The City Ground doesn’t include a release clause, and Forest are therefore in a relatively commanding position.

Since joining Forest, Anderson has made more than 50 appearances for Forest across all competitions.

He was also handed his senior England debut in September, despite representing Scotland at youth level, and has now played four times for the Three Lions under Thomas Tuchel.

Anderson’s current contract with Forest is set to run until the end of the 2028/29 season.
