Manchester United return to Premier League action when they visit old rivals Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

Ruben Amorim’s side have struggled so far this term but did beat newly-promoted Sunderland 2-0 in their last outing.

The Portuguese will hope to see his side build on that performance when they visit Anfield, to face a Liverpool side that have lost each of their last three matches across all competitions.

In the build up to the match, it has emerged that United are keeping tabs on a Bundesliga goalkeeper.

According to TBR Football, United are showing interest in Freiburg ‘keeper Noah Atubolu.

The 23-year-old joined Freiburg as a youngster and has since progressed in the first team at the Bundesliga side.

In total he has now played 84 times across all competitions, keeping 29 clean sheets and conceding 123 goals.

This season he has played nine times, keeping three clean sheets.

It is claimed that the Red Devils are keeping an eye on the German as they seek to find players to potentially bolster Amorim’s goalkeeping department.

United signed Senne Lammens over the summer, and have since sent Andre Onana on loan to Turkish side Trabzonspor.

The Manchester giants will likely face competition in the race to land the German, though, with Italian sides Inter Milan and AC Milan both said to be monitoring the player.

Atubolu, who has been included in the most recent Germany senior squad, is under contract at Freiburg until the end of the 2026/27 season.

The Bundesliga side could face a battle to keep hold of him beyond next summer, though, with several of Europe’s top clubs seemingly circling.

It is claimed that United’s interest in the player comes amid uncertainty surrounding the futures of both Onana and Altay Bayindir, with the pair both likely to leave Old Trafford in the near future, according to the report.
