Manchester United’s nine game unbeaten run across all competitions came to an end on Sunday as they were beaten 3-1 by Aston Villa.

Unai Emery enjoyed a superb start to life as Villans boss, watching his new side cruise to a memorable victory over United in his first game in charge.

United struggled in attack, with their only goal coming courtesy of Villa’s Jacob Ramsey, who put through his own net.

With that in mind, Erik ten Hag is reportedly already considering a move for a striker.

As reported by The Sun, United are interested in Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic as they look to source a long-term successor to Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 37-year-old is believed to be unhappy at Old Trafford and could leave the club in January if a suitable offer is made.

United are therefore looking at potential replacements, and Vlahovic is one name that has been suggested.

The report also claims that United are monitoring Benjamin Sesko, according to The Telegraph.

Vlahovic, 22, joined Juventus from Fiorentina in January for a fee of around £62 million, having previously attracted interest from Arsenal among other clubs.

United could move for Vlahovic as a replacement for Ronaldo

The Serbian striker would likely be expensive if United were to move for him and as he is contracted to Juventus until 2026, the Serie A side are under very little pressure to sell.

The Serbia international has started this season strongly, scoring eight goals in 15 games across all competitions to take his tally to 17 for Juventus.

That is despite Juventus’ dismal form that has seen them dumped out of the Champions League after five defeats in six matches, as well as sinking to eighth in the league table.

During his time in Florence, Vlahovic netted 49 goals in 108 games, a record that prompted interest form several clubs including Arsenal, but it was Juventus that eventually lured him away from Fiorentina.

Ronaldo has scored just once for United in the league so far this season and looks increasingly likely to leave the club during the upcoming January transfer window.

United’s other senior striker, Anthony Martial, was in fine from during pre-season, but has struggled with injuries in recent weeks.
